We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of transportation and civil infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be responsible for developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, performing engineering analyses, and preparing technical documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges and support projects throughout planning, design, and implementation phases. The ideal candidate will bring strong transportation design experience, technical leadership capabilities, proficiency with industry-standard engineering tools, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions for our clients and communities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs
  • Perform detailed calculations
  • Site investigations and monitoring
  • Reviewing, preparing, and modifying designs, analyzing reports, specifications and studies
  • Conduct research and analyze data to inform design decisions
  • Ensure that projects comply with relevant codes, standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, engineers, project managers, etc. to develop and implement creative solutions to complex challenges
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals and presentations
  • Stay up to date with latest trends and developments

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional engineering license (Oregon and Washington registrations required within 6 months of hire)
  • 8+ years of civil engineering experience, primarily in transportation design (stormwater engineering experience a plus) with a background in designing and producing large civil plan sets with multiple disciplines (i.e. drainage, grading, utilities, signing, striping, signals, ADA, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable on national engineering standards such as AASHTO Green Book and Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, HSM, HCM, ITE Trip and Parking Generation; knowledge of local Oregon, Washington, Portland standards a plus
  • Experience leading a team of designers and drafters (upwards of 3-4)
  • Agile and flexible work ethic to take on a variety of tasks, roles, and responsibilities
  • Organized, detail oriented, and solid communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Open Roads, and MicroStation

Benefits & Rewards 

 

The expected salary for this position is $121,000 - $148,000.

 

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
