To continue the growth of our traffic modeling and analysis services in North Carolina, Mott MacDonald is expanding our Traffic Engineering team.  We are searching for a Traffic Engineer with modeling and analysis experience coupled with knowledge of NCDOT practices and procedures. This role is based in our Raleigh (Centennial Campus), NC office with the ability to work remotely and in the field.

 

Responsibilities of the position will include, but may not be limited to: 

  • Proficiency with microsimulation models including TransModeler and Synchro
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of traffic engineering principles and analyses required to complete projects for clients in the southeastern US region
  • Provide input and responsibility on a wide range of projects
  • Contribute to project and technical leadership in Traffic and Transportation
  • Direct and coordinate work with subject matter experts and consultants to meet schedules
  • Assign, review, and evaluate project deliverables for quality and consistency with project scope
  • Deliver technical projects and reports 

 

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience: 

  • BS (Civil) Engineering, or equivalent
  • Professional Engineering registration
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) a plus
  • 10+ years’ experience in Traffic & Transportation Engineering preferred
  • Traffic safety analysis experience a plus
  • Knowledge of NCDOT TEAAS program a plus
  • Signal design, signal timing plan development, signing plan development, and/or traffic control experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Experience or training in computer applications including those previously mentioned (TransModeler, Synchro, Microsoft Office, GIS, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, TransCAD, etc.)
