About the unit 

 

The Water Consultancy Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for responding to water and wastewater challenges, offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations and protecting our environment. Our multi-disciplinary teams provide a variety of services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies, through outline and detailed design, to construction support and site supervision.

Overview of role

 

We are a market leader in the UK water sector, being a key supplier to major water companies and delivering a wide variety of engineering and advisory projects in support to the challenges faced by the sector. Our Water Consultancy Division has ambitious growth plans in line with AMP8 investment needs and we are proud of our strong reputation in the industry which is allowing us to expand our business. Our clients are facing difficult challenges including pollution, leakage, climate change and many more. Whilst supporting our clients to tackle these problems, we need to be managing the information we produce in an efficient way, and aligned with standards which our clients would like us to follow. To meet the growing workload, we are growing our Information Management Team. We are looking to recruit new staff who have a track record of setting up Information Management systems and procedures and supporting projects with document control. 

 

The role could involve both strategic advisory services, as well as implementation support to develop and deliver our information management execution plans. We think this is a great opportunity to deliver a step change in how we support our clients. Candidate specification

 

We are looking for a driven individual, keen to make a difference in the sector, take wide responsibilities and progress professionally.

Required skills and experience:
 

  • Previous relevant experience in a similar role
  • Relevant qualifications for the position
  • Experience producing BEPs aligned to client EIRs
  • Knowledge of and experience in the application of industry BIM/Information Management standards (ISO19650 and the UK BIM Framework)
  • Working knowledge of a range of CDE platforms including ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud, including setting up/managing them in a live project environment
  • Experience in the production and management of information in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Working knowledge of BIM technologies. (e.g. Autodesk Revit / Civil 3D)
  • Experience in reviewing and validating data which has been delivered as part of an information exchange
  • Working knowledge of data/information exchange protocols
  • Positive ‘can-do’ collaborative attitude in working with colleagues and clients
  • Very good time management
  • Demonstrate respect to agreed work deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with experience in effective collaboration across internal multi-disciplinary teams as well as Client teams

 

Desirable:

  • Degree level education in subjects relating to the position
  • Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Institution
  • Experience with change management principles
  • Experience working within the UK water industry
  • Experience in development and delivery of outline, feasibility and detailed engineering design solutions within the UK water sector using appropriate calculation tools
