Mott MacDonald is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery and advancement of transit facility projects, including Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) facilities for transit clients in the Bay Area. This role will play a key part in delivering innovative, sustainable infrastructure, supporting clients as they transition to low-carbon transit solutions.

 

This opportunity is well suited to a candidate with an architectural background, bringing experience in facility design and multidisciplinary coordination across complex transportation projects. A background in civil and/or mechanical engineering could also be a good fit.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, design, and delivery of facility projects, including ZEB facilities, depots, maintenance facilities, and charging infrastructure
  • Manage project performance across scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, engineering, and specialist consultants
  • Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes
  • Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to maintain delivery timelines
  • Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and project documentation
  • Contribute to client relationship management and business development activities

 

Candidate specification

  • Degree in Architecture (preferred), Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Professional licensure (or working toward licensure) is preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in transportation, facilities, or infrastructure projects
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex project delivery
  • Experience supporting projects through design and construction phases
  • Familiarity with transit facilities, fleet electrification, or ZEB infrastructure is an advantage
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

 

 

The expected salary for this position is $125,000 - $153,000
