At Mott MacDonald, we are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer with 10+ years of experience in utility design and drainage engineering to support major transportation and infrastructure projects. This individual will provide technical leadership, deliver high-quality engineering solutions, and serve as a subject matter expert in drainage design. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead utility design, utility coordination, and utility relocation efforts for infrastructure projects. 

  • Serve as the drainage technical lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on complex transportation and municipal projects. 

  • Prepare and review drainage studies, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and stormwater management designs. 

  • Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports. 

  • Coordinate with clients, utility owners, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams. 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. 

  • Support project delivery by ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met. 

  • Participate in proposals, client meetings, and business development activities as needed. 

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. 

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required. 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on utility design and drainage engineering. 

  • Experience delivering transportation, municipal, or infrastructure projects. 

  • Strong knowledge of drainage design, stormwater management, hydrology, and hydraulics. 

  • Experience coordinating with utility companies and public agencies. 

  • Proficiency with engineering software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads/MicroStation, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and/or SWMM. 

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

 

 

The expected salary for this position is $148000 - $181000.
