At Mott MacDonald, we are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer with 10+ years of experience in utility design and drainage engineering to support major transportation and infrastructure projects. This individual will provide technical leadership, deliver high-quality engineering solutions, and serve as a subject matter expert in drainage design.
Responsibilities

Lead utility design, utility coordination, and utility relocation efforts for infrastructure projects.

Serve as the drainage technical lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on complex transportation and municipal projects.

Prepare and review drainage studies, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and stormwater management designs.

Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.

Coordinate with clients, utility owners, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

Support project delivery by ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.

Participate in proposals, client meetings, and business development activities as needed.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on utility design and drainage engineering.

Experience delivering transportation, municipal, or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of drainage design, stormwater management, hydrology, and hydraulics.

Experience coordinating with utility companies and public agencies.

Proficiency with engineering software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads/MicroStation, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and/or SWMM.

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
The expected salary for this position is $148000 - $181000.
