Senior/Principal Engineer - Energy & Technical Advisory

We are looking for an experienced Senior / Principal Engineer – Energy & Technical Advisory to join our growing energy business in South Korea.
This is a senior technical and client-facing role, combining engineering, technical advisory and project leadership across renewable energy projects in Korea and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

The opportunity

You will provide technical leadership across renewable energy projects from feasibility and development through design, construction, commissioning and operation.

You will:

• Lead feasibility studies, engineering assessments and design reviews.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs across civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical and grid disciplines.
• Lead or support Technical Due Diligence (TDD), Lenders’ Technical Advisory (LTA), Owner’s Engineer and Independent Technical Advisor assignments.
• Identify and advise clients on technical, cost, programme, constructability and performance risks.
• Review CAPEX/OPEX assumptions, EPC arrangements, major equipment, grid connection and O&M strategies.
• Lead multidisciplinary assignments as Technical Lead or Project Manager.
• Provide clear, commercially relevant technical advice to developers, investors, lenders and asset owners.
• Support and mentor developing engineers within the team.

About you:

You will bring strong technical experience in renewable energy or power infrastructure, ideally across one or more of:

• Offshore or onshore wind
• Utility-scale solar PV
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Grid connection, substations and transmission
• Balance of Plant and associated civil/structural infrastructure

Ideally, you will have:

• A relevant engineering degree.
• Around 10+ years’ engineering experience, although the relevance and depth of your experience are more important.
• Strong practical engineering and multidisciplinary coordination experience.
• Experience across multiple stages of the renewable energy project lifecycle.
• Strong technical judgement and client-facing capability.
• Experience leading technical workstreams, projects or teams.
• Experience in TDD, LTA, Owner’s Engineer or Independent Engineer assignments and professional registration such as CEng or PE would be advantageous.
• Experience in the South Korean renewable energy market and the ability to work effectively with both Korean clients and international technical teams would be highly valued. 
• Fluent English language capability is needed.
