Overview of role

 

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will assist the Associate/Projects Director or other defined line manager in business management, sales and the running of a cost consultancy team and subsequent achievement of project and business goals.

 

What you will contribute to the Mott MacDonald team; 

  • Assist with the management of a Cost Consultancy team
  • Take part in contract reviews relating to the contract with the customer
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports/liaison with sub-divisional manager
  • Assist with securing new and repeat business in line with the sub-divisional budget
  • Comply with QES system and Group/Unit directives
  • Preparation of estimates and cost plans in line with the brief
  • Potential to engage with line management duties

 

Required for the position Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying subject (or equivalent)
  • Proven skills and experience of delivering within a Cost Consultancy
  • Demonstrable track record of working in the management services environment
  • Expertise in stakeholder management
  • Flexibility in work location and travel
  • Previous experience of working on nuclear projects preferred

Preferred, but not required  

  • MRICS qualified
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Ability to prioritise and able to work under pressure
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Client side or consultancy experience 
  • Procurement/ pre contract experience
