Shape the Future of Australia's Data Centre Industry

As demand for digital infrastructure accelerates, we’re looking for a strategic, commercially driven leader to grow our Data Centres business across Australia and New Zealand.

Located in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane you’ll shape our national growth strategy, build relationships with influential clients and unite multidisciplinary expertise to deliver complex, high-value projects.

The Opportunity

As Data Centre Market Leader, you will drive portfolio growth across Australia and New Zealand by strengthening client relationships, identifying major opportunities, leading strategic pursuits and guiding project delivery.

Working across Buildings, Energy, Water, Environment, Defence, Digital and Transport, you will position Mott MacDonald as a trusted partner to hyperscalers, developers, operators and investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the vision and lead the Data Centres strategy, shaping a high-growth market in line with the Buildings Business Plan and global priorities.
• Build trusted relationships with hyperscalers, developers, operators, investors and industry partners, unlocking opportunities for Mott MacDonald’s integrated offering.
• Own the growth pipeline and lead high-value pursuits and major bids that drive revenue, profitability and long-term market success.
• Bring together the national Data Centres community, mobilising expertise across Buildings, Energy, Water, Environment, Defence, Digital and Transport.
• Shape market-leading Data Centres capability across power, water, approvals, resilience and mission-critical infrastructure.
• Take a leading role as Project Principal or Project Director on strategic projects and pursuits, influencing delivery and commercial success.
• Connect with Data Centres leaders worldwide to bring global expertise to clients, exchange leading practice and accelerate business growth.
• Build and inspire a high-performing team, attracting and developing the talent that will define our future Data Centres capability.
• Translate strategy into measurable results across revenue, pipeline, work winning, profitability, utilisation and client engagement.

What You'll Bring

• Significant experience leading major data centre projects, programmes or portfolios.
• Established relationships within the Australian data centre market.
• A strong record of delivering growth strategies and winning major projects.
• Strong commercial, business development and senior client engagement skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing capability.
• The ability to operate as a trusted advisor and create long-term client value.
