Your Opportunity
Due to exciting upcoming projects, we have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to be part of our Buildings services team in Sydney. You will be joining a diverse team of people who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record of guiding our projects and clients, and leading the delivery across large reputed infrastructure projects.
You will:

Leading mechanical design packages from concept through detailed design and construction support.

Making independent engineering decisions on complex technical issues and project challenges.

Reviewing and approving calculations, specifications, schedules, reports and design documentation.

Managing project deliverables to agreed programme, budget and quality requirements.

Acting as the primary mechanical engineering interface with clients and project stakeholders.

Representing the business at client, design and construction coordination meetings.

Coordinating local, interstate and global design resources to deliver efficient project outcomes.

Undertaking site inspections, construction-phase services and technical issue resolution.

Providing technical governance and peer review for mechanical engineering deliverables.

Contributing to recruitment, workforce planning and capability development initiatives.

Supporting strategic planning, technical practice development and knowledge-sharing activities across the Building Services business.

Delivering proposals, fee estimates and technical inputs for pursuits and bids.

Promoting innovation, sustainability and digital engineering practices in project delivery.
About you
Desirable Experience and qualifications
-
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
-
Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or demonstrable pathway towards chartership preferred.

Significant experience in mechanical building services design within a consulting environment.

Experience delivering complex projects across sectors such as aviation, health, education, commercial, life sciences or major infrastructure-related buildings.

Strong understanding of NCC, Australian Standards, energy efficiency requirements, smoke control and ventilation design principles.

Experience with Revit/BIM-enabled design delivery and mechanical engineering analysis tools.
