Your Opportunity

 

We’re seeking a dynamic State Manager for New South Wales, based in our Sydney office, to lead and inspire a diverse team of consultants and leaders. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-profile projects, driving commercial success, and shaping our strategic direction in NSW. As an experienced professional in the consulting field, you’ll bring a strong client focus, proven commercial acumen and extensive experience in the oversight of large multidisciplinary engineering and advisory project delivery. 

 

Success in this exciting role will be achieved by: 

  • Demonstrating positive and visible leadership that aligns with our PRIDE values, the face of our NSW business both internally and in the local market.
  • Effectively delivering the business P&L in line with target budgets.
  • Contributing to the development of the broader business strategy, delivering commercially successful projects and engaging with clients. 
  • Efficient resource management across our markets and portfolios including recruitment, retention and people engagement.
  • Supporting the Business Management Systems and health, safety and wellbeing culture while ensuring the wellbeing of the team, in line with relevant legislation. 
  • Taking principal roles in State significant projects and providing support and guidance to comply with legislative and Mott MacDonald policies and procedures.  

 

About You 

 

You have deep experience in the consulting market, and you have led teams delivering quality professional services that enhance the business’s reputation in the market. You enjoy and have substantial experience leading successful teams that deliver high standards for your clients and run effective projects.  You will have both a personal and professional passion for the Business development with an excellent track record at in delivering projects in a commercial/consultancy environment.  We welcome applications from those demonstrating: 

 

  • An inclusive leadership style.  
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrable record of writing proposals and winning work, ideally within the energy, infrastructure, transport or defence markets. 
  • Ability to develop tactical strategies that are aligned with our business goals and that are adaptive to change. 
  • Knowledge of current professional standards and innovations guaranteeing high levels of safety in project design and delivery, supported by quality checking and verification activities.
