The opportunity 

 

Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, we are looking for talented Systems Engineering and Integration Lead to be a part of our growing Australian Systems Engineering and Integration team in NSW.  Our offering is unique - complex projects often struggle to integrate their systems and assets to the existing environment which leads to project delays or poor outcomes. Many of our clients look to us to support them define the frameworks and achieve operational readiness. Our team meets this need through providing projects with expertise in Systems Integration, Testing & Commissioning, Progressive Systems Assurance, and Operations & Maintenance Integration. We work to ensure these projects deliver the best possible outcome for the project, the operator, and the end users.    

 

The role is diverse, and your key responsibility will vary project to project, but you can expect to be performing project-specific Systems Integration duties across a range of clients, which may include: 

 

  • Develop training material for the Mott MacDonald Metro and Rail Learning Academy, lead the roll-out of specific modules towards colleagues in the APNA region.
  • Act as Systems Engineering and Integration lead for Mott MacDonald and/or on behalf of clients on major projects.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines and actively participating in interdisciplinary market facing business opportunities.
  • Develop Systems Integration strategies, plans and roadmaps for project needs.
  • Operational Integration and Readiness – SME for the development and implementation of Operational Readiness Frameworks. SME for the development and implementation of operational proving activities (e.g. trial operations, procedure validation). SME for ETCS Operational Integration and interoperability between technical suppliers.
  • Operational Safety and Assurance – SME for the development and capture of operational safety and assurance arguments.
  • Stage and Systems Definitions – SME for the development and creation of Test Stage and Systems Definitions.
  • Operational, Maintenance and Test Concepts –SME for the development and creation of Operational, Maintenance and Test Concepts.

 

About You

  • An inclusive leadership style
  • Degree with experience in the delivery of large, complex projects, specifically in the right-side of the V.
  • Demonstrable experience of holistic integration of complex systems from low-level unit and subsystem up to end-to-end and operational integration.
  • Ability to take a high-level view of project testing and commissioning strategy, testing priority and sequence, verification of requirements, and personnel and equipment requirements.
  • Keen understanding of Systems Engineering concepts, including how broader functions like operations, systems assurance, safety, V&V works with integration, testing and commissioning.
  • Ability to use and drive IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of CBTC and/or ETCS operation is desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to communicate progress and issues accurately at all levels of the Consultant, Contractor and Client organisation.
  • Whilst not mandatory, it is desired that you have experience the delivery, integration and testing of rail systems, and in-depth knowledge of technologies such as CBTC and ETCS.
