Mott MacDonald Canada is strengthening its civil engineering presence across Eastern Canada as we continue to deliver high‑impact public infrastructure, including transit, transportation, municipal, and major civil works. With a growing portfolio of complex projects across the region, we are looking to appoint an Eastern Canada Civil Lead to champion technical excellence, grow and mentor a high‑performing team, and support the strategic expansion of our civil engineering practice.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an accomplished civil engineering professional who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment, has a passion for developing people, and is motivated by delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions for our clients and our communities.

 

As our Eastern Canada Civil Lead, your responsibilities would include but may not be limited to:

 

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing our Toronto based team of civil engineers, fostering a collaborative culture focused on growth, learning, and technical quality.

  • Overseeing technical delivery and design management for a wide range of public infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations, regulatory standards, and best practices.

  • Serving as Engineer-of-Record for key project packages, supported by multidisciplinary technical and production teams.

  • Reviewing and coordinating design documents across engineering disciplines to ensure consistency, integration, and constructability.

  • Supporting business growth by identifying opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to proposals, scopes, and strategic pursuits.

  • Engaging closely with clients, partners, and stakeholders to support the planning and delivery of major regional infrastructure programs.

  • Promoting innovation, design excellence, and continuous improvement within the civil engineering practice.

 

 

The successful candidate must possess the below skills, qualifications and experience:

 

  • Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

  • 20+ years of progressive civil engineering experience across public infrastructure sectors such as transportation, transit, conveyance, municipal, and highway.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a high-performing team with diverse skills and experience.

  • Experience in developing team members, including coaching, mentoring, and providing technical excellence guidance on complex projects.  

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, business partners, contractors, and internal teams.

  • Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation InRoads is ideal but not essential

Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.

 

 

The expected salary range for this position is from $170,000 - $210,000.
