As an EIT, your responsibilities will include:​ 

  • Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, 
  • Assist in preparing design calculations, drawings, cost estimates, and technical reports
  • Apply design code clauses to engineering tasks assigned under supervision,
  • Analyzing reports, specifications, and studies,​
  • Attending site inspections, investigations, and monitoring​,
  • Actively participating in project, client and team meetings,​
  • Undertaking a ‘digital by default’ approach in deliverables​,
  • Supporting our ‘Purpose’ in everything you do,​
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with team members,

  Candidate Specification


​To be considered for this position, you’ll need:​ 

 

  • 2-5 years of post-graduate experience,
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited university, with a focus on structural and seismic analysis/design,
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred​ (if applicable to your region),
  • Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, Ministry of Transportation and Transit Supplement to the Bridge Design Code would be considered an asset,
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members,​
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail, with an ability to demonstrate good report organization and writing.

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $77,000 - $98,000
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience, location and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
