Graduate BIM modeler's responsibilities include:
- Authoring BIMs using a variety of software to support senior modelers and project teams by promoting and utilizing the best tools and systems framework for projects
- Using different tools and systems that will require configuration and deployment based on each project’s requirements
- Enhancing and expanding current BIM capabilities, and progressing new technologies like 4D Scheduling (4D), Virtual Reality (VR) and web-based client engagement
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and layouts using AutoCAD and other CAD software under the guidance of senior technicians and engineers,
- Revise drawings based on mark-ups, design changes, or project updates,
- Assist in producing construction drawings, site plans, and structural details for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects,
- Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing files and document control,
- Support the team with basic quantity take-offs and material lists as required,
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve workflows and quality,
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure drawings adhere to project specifications, standards, and codes,
Candidate Specifications:
- Minimum 1-5 years; experience as a modeling practitioner working with project engineers or managers,
- Graduate from an accredited college program in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Technology, or from a career college in Engineering CAD / BIM Technology,
- Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand what tasks are required to deliver projects and assignments successfully, as well as solve technical challenges while developing new workflows,
- Genuine interest in developing and progressing digital delivery with a propensity for learning,
- Excellent communication skills to work closely with teams and to function as a team player,
- Background in Autodesk tools and systems such as Autodesk Civil3D, Revit, 3D Studio Max/Stingray and Infraworks and Microstation,
- Knowledge and appreciation for best performance in model-based design (BIM) protocols, standards, and software,
- Experience with infrastructure projects in one or more of these fields: Rail, Transit, Bridges, Tunnels, Buildings or Civil works,
- Experience in Autodesk BIM Software: Dynamo, Subassembly Composer, Navisworks, ReCap, and InfraWorks,
