Mott MacDonald is seeking a passionate and motivated Graduate Sustainability Consultant to join our growing Climate Change & Sustainability (CC&S) team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects that address the global challenges of climate change and sustainability. 

You’ll work alongside an experienced and multidisciplinary team, supporting the integration of sustainability principles into the planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure projects across sectors such as transportation, buildings, and energy. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and the chance to grow your career in a purpose-driven environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

As a Graduate Sustainability Consultant, you will: 

 

  • Support project teams in delivering services such as: 

    • Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and carbon footprint assessments 

    • Climate risk and resilience assessments 

    • Net Zero strategy development 

    • Sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, Envision, CaGBC Zero Carbon Building Standard) 

  • Assist in the application of sustainability frameworks and tools across infrastructure projects 

  • Conduct research, data analysis, and contribute to technical reports and presentations 

  • Participate in internal knowledge-sharing initiatives and team meetings 

  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and regions to deliver high-quality outcomes 

  • Contribute to proposal development and business development activities as appropriate 

 

We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate: 

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or in the final year of study) in engineering, environmental sciences, sustainability, or a related field 

  • A strong interest in climate change, sustainability, and infrastructure development 

  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as LEED, Envision, or Net Zero principles (coursework or project experience is a plus) 

  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative 

  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to impactful work
