Mott MacDonald is a dynamic and progressive organization involved in world-leading local and international projects. We have an opportunity for a talented and highly motivated Building Information Modelling (BIM) Coordinator to join our Toronto office, working closely with multidisciplinary engineers and consultant teams across Architecture, Structure, and MEP disciplines.

As a BIM Coordinator, you will lead model coordination and federation activities, ensuring seamless collaboration between disciplines. You will be responsible for implementing project BIM execution plans, managing digital workflows for data exchange, and driving clash detection and issue resolution processes. This role requires expertise in developing and coordinating 3D models using Autodesk and/or Bentley software applications for major infrastructure and building projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead model federation and design resolution activities across multiple disciplines.
  • Prepare bi-weekly and submittal packages of federated models as required.
  • Set up, configure, and manage project BIM platforms for coordination.
  • Hold coordination workshops and manage coordination spaces.
  • Run clash tests for disciplines and interfaces using Navisworks and/or Revizto.
  • Create and assign issues, compile clash reports, and track resolution.
  • Manage ACC Issues Management – creating, reporting, and tracking issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company and project-specific modeling and drawing standards.
  • Support BIM implementation, authoring, and coordination in all project phases.
  • Coordinate design matters between key project stakeholders.
  • Compile coordination reports and communicate complex technical concepts using 3D digital models.
  • Guide and mentor BIM Modelers, identifying training requirements and managing the modeling team.

 

Candidate Specification

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in BIM coordination across MEP and structural disciplines.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and preferably Revizto; Bentley Open Suite experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of model management and federation workflows.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards is a plus.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline.
  • Preferred Experience in Data management systems (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bentley ProjectWise, Microsoft SharePoint).
