Alongside the team, you will be assigned to a variety of projects in your chosen area of interest, working to deliver sustainable outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.
Our buildings structural team in Vancouver is looking for a 4-month co-op student, based in the Toronto office, for the Fall 2025 term who is looking to get involved primarily in structural engineering design with a secondary focus on development of digital solutions ranging from automation of structural calculations to implementation of AI tools, like agentic LLM workflows. Our team regularly utilizes computational design practices for structural engineering such as Grasshopper, Dynamo, C# and Python.
The structural engineering day-to-day may involve:
- Reviewing architect drawings, creating markups, coordination
- Performing basic structural design calculations (beams, columns, slabs in steel, concrete)
- Develop structural FEA models
- Using rhino/grasshopper for parametric design
The software engineering day-to-day may involve:
- Programming in Python
- Managing the github repositories
- Developing API connections with structural software
- Developing plugins for structural software
- Contributing to our internal python web-based engineering toolbox

To be considered for this co-op/intern position, you will currently be working towards a bachelor's degree in structural engineering, with a focus on building structures.
We are looking for students with the following characteristics:
- Prior relevant internships, co-ops, or practical work-experience preferred
- Methodical approach to problem solving
- Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SAP2000 or similar FEA program and experience using Grasshopper, Python, C# preferred
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a team of professionals who are deeply committed to exceeding client expectations
