Mott MacDonald Canada is currently involved in several major infrastructure projects in the aviation and transit realms. We are currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer to complement our team and assist with horizontal and vertical infrastructure assignments for public and private-sector clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Engage as part of large multidisciplinary teams and review design documents for consistency and coordination
- Infrastructure design including roadways, sanitary sewers, water mains, site grading and drainage
- Perform hydraulic and hydrologic calculations analysis to investigate drainage issues and prepare stormwater management plans, including green infrastructure and low impact development principles
- Prepare calculations, engineering designs and drawings, technical reports, specifications and cost estimates
- Assist during construction for review of shop drawings, RFIs, and design clarifications
- Engage in verbal and written communications with clients, contractors, and sub-contractors
- Develop technical libraries and support digital innovations within the organization
Candidate Specifications:
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer in good standing or eligibility for registration
- 5+ years progressive experience in stormwater, municipal, or civil design
- Experience with software such as SWMM5/PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary Analysis, InfoWorks
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
- Excellent written communication and good report writing capabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to integrate within a dynamic team and provide guidance to junior staff
- Ability to build good working relationships with our business partners, suppliers, contractors, and clients
- Proactive self-starter who’s also flexible and able to adapt and learn
