Mott MacDonald is currently seeking an experienced professional with a demonstrated capability in the design management of transit projects to join our team in Vancouver. In this position, you will have the opportunity to continue your professional development by working on some of the most exciting transportation projects in the region and help grow our Urban Transit Mobility portfolio. We are interested in hearing from enthusiastic and talented individuals who enjoy problem solving. You will contribute to the Mott MacDonald team through thoughtful delivery of planning and design deliverables in the transportation sector, collaboration and developing junior staff, and contributing to Mott MacDonald’s commitment to excellence.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning, organizing, coordination, and delivery of complex transit and urban mobility projects through all phase of project development, design, procurement, and implementation
- Serving as the primary interface with clients, building trusted relationships, understanding client objectives, and ensuring successful project outcomes that align with technical, commercial, and operational requirement
- Managing multidisciplinary project teams, providing leadership, direction, and decision-making to drive high-quality deliverables, effective collaboration, and project success
- Leading discussions and negotiations with clients, stakeholders, partners, and project teams to resolve complex technical and delivery challenges while maintaining positive working relationships
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to establish and complete project deliverables on time and within budget
- Coordinating and integrating the work of multiple engineering disciplines, consultants, and specialist teams to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with project objectives
- Supporting the development of proposal responses
- Supporting the maintenance of current industry standards and procedures
- Acting as a role model and ambassador for Mott MacDonald, articulating and representing our brand, vision, and value proposition internally and externally

Candidate Specification:
Our team of professionals provides innovative engineering solutions for the North American transportation and infrastructure industry with unprecedented success. We’re looking for an individual to join our team to continue this traction and invite applications from candidates with:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, preferably in electrical, controls, or systems engineering
- At least 10 years of industry experience in the transit, transportation buildings, or other transportation sector including experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and delivering complex infrastructure projects
- Registration with P.Eng. and in good standing (or the ability to obtain a P.Eng designation in British Columbia within 12 months)
- Demonstrated experience delivering transit or rail infrastructure project through planning, design, procurement, and implementation phases
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, balancing technical, schedule, and stakeholder requirements
- Demonstrated success delivering projects in fast paced and high-pressure environments while maintaining quality, budget, schedule, and client satisfaction
- Strong client relationship management skills, particularly the ability to navigate challenging discussions, manage competing priorities, and successfully resolving complex project issues through negotiation and collaboration
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with a focus on identifying project risks early to develop creative and practical solutions
- Experience with managing client expectations, facilitating consensus among diverse stakeholders, and influencing decision making in complex projects
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business partners, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and design criteria
- Well-developed written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience mentoring and developing junior staff while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
The expected salary range for this position is from $126,000 - $154,000
