Mott MacDonald is currently seeking a Bridge Engineer in our Westwood, MA office. Mott MacDonald’s transportation and infrastructure teams work on some of the most important projects at hand, incorporating our values of sustainability and improving communities through positive social outcomes. Being part of the MM team provides the opportunity to work with dedicated, talented professionals across a broad range of infrastructure and transportation projects.


Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Management of bridge projects. 
  • Overseeing bridge design, contract document development, and technical writing.
  • Assisting in the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, studies, and designs for project.         
  • Independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Leading meetings with clients and contractors with other members of the project team.        
  • Reviewing various shop drawings and preparing preconstruction cost estimates for projects.
  • Working with the team to prepare proposals.
  • Financial management of projects, including updating internal financial system, invoice preparation and payment processing . 
  • Efficient, safe, and reliable infrastructure is absolutely vital to a country's well-being. Our engineers marry technical and business expertise to deliver innovative solutions that meet client challenges as well as the diverse transport needs of communities.

We’re looking for someone to embody this ethos and welcome applications from bridge engineer candidates with the following experience:

  • A degree in civil engineering
  • 10-15 years’ bridge design and project management experience, including structural rehabilitation and replacement of highway and rail bridges   
  • A Massachusetts PE required, reciprocity is acceptable       
  • Management of people and projects   
  •  Effective communication through collaboration; written and oral        
  • Experience with Massachusetts and/or Connecticut Department of Transportation standards and project procedures preferred.       
  • Proficiency with Bentley Open Bridge is preferred; proficiency in Bentley Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D design software is a plus.

At Mott MacDonald, we provide a comprehensive benefit package that includes 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance. 

The expected salary for this position is $86,000 - $106,000. 

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
