Responsibilities include:
- Support and/or lead design engineering efforts on an array of infrastructure projects including rail/vehicular tunnels, water/wastewater facilities, and more in the U.S. and Canada.
- Performing Power system calculations (Short Circuit, Arc Flash, Load flow, OCPD coordination) utilizing SKM or ETAP software
- Perform lighting design and photometric calculations using industry recognized software namely AGI32 and Elum Tools for interior and exterior transit related facilities in accordance with Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) requirements.
- Prepare and check design drawings using AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, and Autodesk REVIT software, calculations, and specifications
- Carry out field inspections and site surveys for electrical, instrumentation, control, AC power and communication systems as well as prepare detailed inspection and assessment reports
- Develop Bill of Quantities and Costing documentation
- Assisting business development efforts by helping to prepare scope and cost proposals to win work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical Power Systems and Renewable Energy Design
- Registered Professional Engineering (PE) License: candidates who are studying for, or have passed the FE, are Engineers in Training (EIT) and are committed to pursuing licensure when eligible shall also be considered. OR Professional engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts ability to obtain a license within 12 months. OHSA 10 certification.
- Three (3) years in each of the following:
- Performing preliminary and detailed lighting design and photometric calculations for transit facilities including above and below ground rail stations, vehicular and pedestrian bridges, roadway tunnels, and associated ancillary buildings
- Design of low voltage substations, control rooms, and substation communications schemes
- Seasoned in performing site surveys and inspections for electrical, AC power, and communication systems, and producing inspection assessment reports. Surveys may include electrical measurement and Data logging of electrical services.
- Drafting and using enhanced photometric simulation tools including AGI32, ElumTools, Bentley MicroStation, and BlueBeam PDF
- Utilizing Autodesk software (3D AutoCAD, Autodesk REVIT, Autodesk Navisworks), Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and communication and collaboration tools (MS Teams, Skype Professional).
- Applying understanding of NFPA 70, 70E, 130, 502 OSHA, NESC, and IESNA for electrical and transportation related design criteria
- Experience working on large scale, multi-million dollar construction cost transportation projects with aggressive deliverable schedules.
- Experience working in a team environment for full project coordination with electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines.
- Basic understanding of Supervisory, Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), instrumentation and control systems and concepts.
- Power System Study modelling software experience; SKM or ETAP

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
The expected salary for this position is $86,000 - $105,000.
