Our summer work experience programme is inclusive and will provide students with the opportunity to learn more about the world of work and how we work with our clients. During your time with us, you will learn and experience being part of a team, all you need is a willingness to learn and enthusiasm, we will teach you the rest.
Not only will our work experience programme at Mott MacDonald give you an inside look at what it's like working for a global engineering and management development consultancy, but you will also gain first-hand knowledge of the diverse range of career possibilities our industry has to offer. These include: engineering, management consultancy, international development, environmental, education policy, healthcare, planning, transport, ecology, quantity surveying, GIS, architecture (office dependent) and social value.
If you are interested in learning about any of the above careers, this may be the right path for you. You do not need to know anything about the industry, just a willingness to learn and make the most of the opportunity.
Our work experience programme is open to anyone from Years 10 to 13 (14 to 18 years of age) or up to the age of 19 who has not yet started higher education. We offer in office work experience and in some circumstances, we may be able to offer virtual work experience.
We receive a high volume of applications for work experience placements and therefore limited places are available. We are asking students to consider their availability to ensure they can commit to their chosen week before applying as we may not be able to find you an alternative if you need to change dates. If we cannot find a place for you on your preferred week, you will be added to the waiting list and contacted when a place becomes available.
At Mott MacDonald we’re committed to ensuring that our recruitment practices are barrier-free and as inclusive as possible for everyone. If you have specific requirements you’d like to discuss with us, please get in touch, you can email us on workexperience@mottmac.com.
Please note the closing date for work experience applications is 31st January 2025. Due to the high volume of applications we are receiving, we may need to close the application process earlier than the stated deadline of 31st January 2025. If we reach our maximum limit of applications before this date, we will close the applications.
