Mott MacDonald Work Experience Placement

Summer Work Experience Programme

Our inclusive summer work experience programme is designed to give students a real insight into the world of work at Mott MacDonald. You’ll discover how we partner with clients and experience what it’s like to be part of a collaborative team. The programme is designed to welcome and support students from all backgrounds – all you need is enthusiasm.

During your placement, you’ll get an inside view of life at a global engineering, management, and development consultancy, and explore a wide variety of career paths in our industry. Opportunities span across engineering, management consultancy, environment, education policy, healthcare, planning, transport, ecology, quantity surveying, GIS, architecture (office dependent), new energy, transport systems and social value.

Whether you’re interested in any of these areas or simply want to discover what makes our work so rewarding, this programme could be the perfect fit for you. No prior experience or industry knowledge is required — just curiosity and a desire to make the most of this opportunity.

During your placement with us, you will participate in our Finding Your Future programme which will provide you with an insight into how we approach real life projects. You will have options as to which mini-project to work on which will be a series of modules to work through and which you can either do collaboratively in pairs or independently. Upon completion of the mini project you will achieve an Industrial Cadet Silver award, a nationally recognised accreditation.
